Help Keep Our Beaches Beautiful!
What you need to know when visiting the BEAUTIFUL white sand beaches of Marco Island!
Public Beaches and access:
Tigertail Beach: GETTING INFO
Southbeach: GETTING INFO
NO LIVE SHELLING Only shells that do not contain a live organism should be taken from the beach. If unsure, leave it there.
LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS! ALL TRASH should be disposed of in the proper containers or “packed out” with you.
NO PETS Dogs/pets are not allowed on the beach. Guide dogs accompanying the visually/hearing impaired are permitted.
PROTECT THE DUNES Avoid trampling or moving beach vegetation which stabilizes sand and reduces breach erosion.
NO GLASS Glass containers or bottles are not allowed on the beach for obvious safety reasons. Fines - Strictly enforced.
SHARE THE BEACH WITH OUR WILDLIFE Please avoid nesting birds and turtle nests. Feeding the birds is prohibited.
Loggerhead sea turtle nests are marked during the months of May 1st to October 31st. Least Tern, Showy Plover, and Black Skimmers nest between March and September. Do not chase or “Flush” the birds.
NO CAMPING There is no overnight camping on our beach, with or without tents.
No removal or destruction of dunes by walking, sitting, storing equipment, throwing litter, or any other article into the
NO BIKES, NO CARS Strollers, wheelchairs, and licensed beach vendor vehicles are allowed.
NO FIRES Enjoy a picnic on the beach, but open fires or barbeque grills are not permitted on the beach.
KEEP OUR BEACHES DARK Lights out after 9:00 pm for the Sea Turtle nesting and hatching season - May 1st to October 31st.
RESPECT OTHERS Please respect others while enjoying the beach. Keep noise low on radios and avoid talking on cell phones.
GET INFORMED AND INVOLVED Volunteer to help monitor, clean, or educate people about the beach and how to
